Installing Qt SDK 2009.03 to Centos

There are some small issues with installing Qt on centos. Proceed as follows:

1. Download and install qt as usual:

chmod u+x qt-sdk-linux-x86-opensource-2009.03.bin

2. Do the following changes in order to install required fontconfig:

cd /usr/src/
tar -zxf fontconfig-2.4.2.tar.gz
cd fontconfig-2.4.2
./configure –prefix=/opt/fontconfig-2.4.2
make install

# backup old library
cd /usr/lib

# add link to new libraries
ln -s /opt/fontconfig-2.4.2/lib/ ./
ln -s /opt/fontconfig-2.4.2/lib/ ./

Qt now is up and running and you should be able to build applications. Please note, in order to be able to use Qt Creator, you will have to configure it to use the newly installed Qt library.
